Our Cats
At Puss In Books we have two orange fluffballs that are ready to make your acquaintance!
Toast and Marmalade are brother and sister, and below you can read a little about each of them to know how to win their hearts.

As we are only a small cafe and just starting out, we only have two cats for now. We want to make sure that Toast and Marmalade are fully happy and settled in before possibly adding any more furry residents, so for now we are sticking with the two but are leaving our options open for the future!

First Night Home
Their Story
Toast and Marmalade were born on 20/07/25 in Heathfield, Sussex.
They were born in a hoarding house that was already overcrowded with a large population of unspayed/unneutered cats that had been left to fend for themselves in poor conditions.
Due to all the interbreeding and disease in the house, Toast and Marmalade were born with several conditions and deformities including underbites and dislocated back legs.

Luckily their legs recovered and they were able to walk, but their underbites have led to the need for dental surgery and will likely require more procedures in the future.
Toast and Marmalade also both survived a severe case of cat flu which they contracted when they were only a few weeks old. However, the effects are still prevalent today; they have weakened immune systems due to the virus and are much more susceptible to infections and viruses than other cats, thus they now stay indoors.

Trisha Mason, a local rescuer (and my aunt!), nursed them back to health. When they were healthy enough to be rehomed, I collected them and brought them to their new home in Frome.
They received their full run of vaccinations, were spayed/neutered and grew into healthy, playful kittens!

Now they live happily in Puss In Books where they are fussed over all day <3
